One of the key features that separates the SITL from other training laboratories/facilities is the strong presence of research activities that relate to training methodology, technology-enabled clinical procedures and surgical technology innovation. By applying artificial intelligence, machine learning from big surgical training data, and using advanced virtual reality and augmented reality technologies, we are able to develop new training matrixes, curriculums and courses that flatten the learning curves, thus shortening the learning time for surgeons to master the new technologies in the operating room.
